International Cricket: Mitchell Starc - Best fast bowler in the Modern Cricket - Mitchell Aaron Starc is an Australian cricketer playing for the Australian National Cricket team. He is widely recognized to be one of the best fastest bowlers who could compete with Shoaib Akhtar, the fastest bowler in the world. He is a left arm fast bowler and has played 69 test matches 99 ODIs and 50 T20s holding more than 500 wickets and is currently playing for the Australian team. He was born on 30th January 1990 in the Baulkham Hills of New South Wales (Australia). He played an effective role in the victory of the 2015 Cricket World Cup along with it he was declared as the Player of the Tournament because of his excellent performance in the matches. He ranks 5th in the highest wicket taker in the history of World Cup wickets with the record of 49.

Starc was very much fond of playing cricket, he started playing from the younger age and till the age of 9 he joined the Northern Districts as a Wicketkeeper and started representing the team in the Northern Districts Cricket Association. He studied in the Homebush Boys High School where he represented the school 1st grade team. He was selected for bowling and wicket keeping the Berala Sports Cricket Club in Sydney where he used to be the skipper of the junior cricket team.

He made his debut in the domestic cricket at the age of 19 playing for New South Wales, his excellent performance for Western Suburbs and in the State 2nd XI helped him to play for the finals of the season . In the year 2009-10 during a match against Queensland he scored a half century and took 21 wickets in all together which included his best score of 5 for 74.

Starc made his entry in the international Cricket after a great execution of his skills in the domestic along with this, the Australian fast bowlers were injured so he got the opportunity to play his first tour to India in the late 2010 where he didn’t get the chance to bat and from bowling side he went wicket less.

He made his first debut in the test match in the year 2011 during a match against New Zealand where he came up with two wickets in Brisbane and the second two in the second test conducted in Hobart. In the 2012-13 Border Gavaskar Trophy series in India Starc became the first 9,10,11 number batsman to face 100 balls in both innings which is now counted as one of the record.

In the year 2018 as he took 13 wickets during a match against India in the 2018-19 Border Gavaskar Trophy he was awarded with the nation National contract by Cricket Australia and also got the opportunity to play the 2019 Cricket World Cup where he made the World record in a match against New Zealand by taking 5 wickets in haul, he finished the tournament with total of 27 dismissals and became the first bowler to take five wickets haul in the World Cup.
