Team India has now given the call to a new opener Mayank Agarwal who would take the place Rohit Sharma for a test match against England at Edgbaston which is going to be commenced from 1st of July 2022.

BCCI had not made any announcement regarding the captaincy change and it can be understood that they will be taking a call only closer to the game with Rohit’s status being monitored.
Team India has been facing tough situation because the second opener KL Rahul who used to assist Rohit for the opening side has also not returned from the groin injury, India can now be hampered further if Rohit Sharma don’t return as soon as possible to partner Shubhman Gill during the test.
