India has taken a lead in the initial stage of the series by defeating Sri Lanka with 34 runs since the bowling side of the Indian team had showed a great performance in the match. Jeminah Rodrigues made an unbeaten score of 36 off 27 balls helping India to set the target to 138 losing 6 wickets in the first T20 match.

If seen from the Sri Lankan side Kavisha Dilhari remained 47 not out with a strike rate of 95.91. The innings ended with the figures of 104 for 5 in 20 overs.
